Most healthy adults who have one or more missing teeth and sufficient jawbone density are good candidates for dental implants. During your consultation, our team will evaluate your bone health using digital imaging to determine if any preparatory procedures (like bone grafting) are needed.
The full process typically takes 3 to 6 months. This includes placing the implant, allowing time for osseointegration (where the implant fuses with bone), and then placing the final crown or prosthetic.
Most patients experience minimal discomfort. During surgery, local anesthesia (and sedation, if needed) ensures you won’t feel pain. After the procedure, any post-op soreness can usually be managed with over-the-counter pain relief.
You should care for your implants just like your natural teeth — brush twice daily, floss, and attend regular dental check-ups. Maintaining good gum health is especially important around implants to prevent complications.
Dental implants have a very high success rate — typically over 95% in healthy individuals. With proper care, an implant can last for decades or even a lifetime; though sometimes the visible crown might need replacement due to wear.
